Locally, our candidates were pleased with their campaigns – they all retained their deposit (which is great for our finances!) and, in a shortened campaign, made great impressions on the voters they could meet in person. This year, we have elections for West Northamptonshire Council. Turnout for these at the last set of elections in 2021 was only 29%. As liberals, we believe that true equality is achieved when individuals are not only free from prejudice and discrimination, but also free to fulfil their potential. So fighting for LGBTQ+ rights is not a choice Liberals make.
