People should come first at West Northamptonshire Council say Liberal Democrats

Liberal Democrats have one of the strongest records of success in local government and West Northamptonshire Liberal Democrats launch their local election campaign today with a promise to change how things are done at West Northamptonshire Council so that people are put first, at the heart of council decision-making.
Liberal Democrats are running candidates in every one of the 35 wards, so that everyone in West Northamptonshire has the opportunity to vote Liberal Democrat.
“It’s time to change the running of our council services to a party that cares, is capable, and has a plan to fix our broken services,” says Chris Leggett, candidate for Kingsthorpe North Ward in Northampton. “The Conservatives have proven to be unable to do so despite over a decade in charge, as Liberal Democrats we will listen and deliver.”
Liberal Democrats are highlighting the need for better roads, improved local services and that the environment matters in their campaign for the 1st May elections.
Cllr Jonathan Harris, candidate for Brixworth Ward, says, “We all know that funding for roads has been decreased by successive Conservative Governments, but we have a situation locally where we are seeing mismanagement and waste. Potholes being repaired multiple times and road closures announced for repairs and then nothing taking place. Northamptonshire County Council’s wonderful legacy was bankruptcy, meaning that all preventative-spend in road repairs was stopped. That’s why the situation of our roads is even worse in West Northamptonshire compared to other councils and everyone in West Northamptonshire deserves better.”
