“Labour and Conservatives unite to protect Conservative Police Commissioner” Cllr Glynane
The Leader of the Liberal Democrat Opposition at County Hall has slammed the Conservatives and Labour after they united to remove the Liberal Democrats from the Police and Crime Panel, despite the Liberal Democrats being entitled to a place under the law.
Cllr Glynane said "It is clear that the Conservatives and Labour are stitching this up to protect the Conservative Police Commissioner from scrutiny. Remember the Labour party supported the Conservative Police Commissioner's budget that cut funds for 45 frontline police officers and spent £800k of taxpayers cash on Conservative political cronies. Only the Liberal Democrats didn't back it, and it is the Liberal Democrats who are the people who led the charge in exposing and opposing the Police Commissioner's cronyism."
"The Labour party have started out the new Council term by showing that they are nothing more than Tory lapdogs. They are the opposition on paper only."
